To the ridership of District 37,
For many months now, we have been working on improvements to the current scoring and steward programs utilized by District 37 and the member clubs. At this point, we have decisions made and programs in place to share with everyone.
For 2013, District 37 clubs will use Moto Tally scoring at all district points paying events. This includes Desert, GP, Enduro and 3Bros. Best of the West. A motion was made at the November Off Road meeting to proceed in this direction, and after discussion and questioning from the Off Road body, the motion passed.
The vast majority of our riders can agree that in this day and time, going to electronic scoring is the next logical step. The 2012 Enduro series was used as a test function to gauge the feasibility and benefits of the system. The result is Moto Tally has proven to be worthwhile and feasible for district to initiate usage district wide for 2013.
What does this mean for you, the rider?
There will be transponders required at all events. The same transponder will be used for all District events, so there will be no need to switch from a desert to a GP transponder. We will be utilizing the style that will stick to the bottom side of your visor. The cost to the riders will be $10 per transponder, and they will be valid as long as the same helmet is used. These will be available at signups at all events. You will need to have your helmet with you at signup when you purchase a transponder. Note: the transponder will not work on chrome or metallic painted helmets/visors. For an alternative solution contact your steward or district referee.
There will be a finish line scoring tower. Times will be available for loops at Desert and GP events.
Season points will be updated as results are posted. As you have been able to see with the Enduro series in 2012, when a club posts preliminary results, the preliminary season standings are updated. As changes are made, the season points will change accordingly.Online license signups will be available. The links are not valid as of yet, but once we go live with the website, an announcement will be made. Stay tuned for announcements on the District 37 message board (http://www.district37ama.org/forums/) and our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AMADistrict37) At this point, each license will be a separate transaction, but it is a future goal to allow for one transaction to get all the licenses you desire.

This allows you to input your own information. Your stewards will be adding the riding number and verifying the skill level. The cost will be slightly higher, but no more than you would have paid by USPS. That is only to cover the cost of envelopes and postage on the stewards. For those that signed up for their enduro card in this manner last year, it was less than a minute transaction on average.
Minors will still need to mail in all minor releases prior to any cards being issued. There is no digital substitute for the minor releases.
Online signups will be available for all clubs that choose to set it up. This is not a website you need membership to access, this is a Moto Tally link and payment is handled through PayPal. There has been a realignment of steward responsibilities, so for some classes, you will be working with a new steward.
