The new race of the Big 6 Grand Prix series, The AMA West Coast Grand Prix Series, is a class designed for a National champion to be crowned at the end of the season. It's nearly a two our race on a grand prix style course and it's brought out some of the fastest guys on the West coast. Here is the breakdown from round 3 of the series...

Kurt Caselli- Caselli chose to race the series for another championship, which you would think he would be racking up points towards. But, after missing round two to go to San Felipe and DNF'ing this weekend, Caselli may have to reevaluate his plan of action. Off the start on Sunday, he was up front, but coming around on the first lap he was busy working his way up from 5th. Throughout the 1:30 +lap, Caselli moved into 1st, but with just three laps to go, the FMF/KTM rider suddenly disappeared. He was out of gas, and pushing his bike down the hill.

Kyle Summers- He's never been a Big 6 racer, as a matter of fact this is only his second or third race with the series, but he is a huge threat in WORCS. Not only did he win the Big 6 at Glen Helen, but until Caselli made his crazy pass on the downhill, many thought Summers had it in the bag. He came around in first and led the bunch for a few laps, even made it tough for Caselli to squeeze by. Eventually he limped his tired bike to the finish for a solid 2nd.

Timmy Weigand- One of the JCR Honda trio riders, Weigand is consistenly a front runner in both the HWT and Vet Pro class. He's the current points leader in the Vet Pro class, and can always be seen in the top 5 overall during the race. Weigand, Caselli and Summers had a tight race together on the moto track this round, but Weigand seemed to suffer on the lap, falling back to 4th. Caselli DNF'd, Udall made a sprint to the front, and Weigand came through the checkers third overall and first in class.

Robby Bell- The THR Motorsport/Presicion Concepts Kawi rider has really improved his results this year all around. Bell is a strong grand prix style racer with both knowledge of moto and off-road and has been a podium contender at the first two rounds. On Sunday, Bell was running 4th when his bike seized and he had to DNF early on.

Colton Udall- Udall has always been a quiet but strong finisher in the series. He's usually chasing the front runners closely, and  always succeeding in Saturday's HWT races. Udall tends to carry his momentum into Sunday's money race and this time he made his first overall win, giving JCR Honda both class wins. Hopefully this win gives him the confidence to be a front runner all race long.

Mark Samuels- A motocrosser turned off-roader, Mark Samuels has time and time again proved he can handle the off-road terrain. Samuels worked his way up from a mid-pack start and took advantage of Caselli's DNF, taking third in class and fourth overall.
